We HAVE power!!! Providing we do not have any further unforeseen issues, Pirates WILL be back to school tomorrow. (Monday, August 28th) Reminder *Breakfast & lunches will be available in all cafeteria's at no cost to students for the 23/24 school year. We are ready to see those smiling faces ~ GO PIRATES!! 🏴‍☠️

Due to numerous power outages in the area, and no power in any of the school buildings, there will be no school today. (FRIDAY, AUG 25th). This also includes Pirate Cove Chidcare.

Due to anticipated high temperatures ALL NCS buildings will move to a half day schedule for Thursday 8/24/23. All call notifications will go out later this afternoon with an additional reminder this evening.

7th & 8th Grade Optional Football Conditioning Cancelled today Thursday, August 17th, 2023.

NCS is eagerly preparing to kick off the school year with our 11th Annual Block Party & Open Houses event! This is a fantastic opportunity for both new and returning students to get acquainted with our campus, meet their teachers, and mingle with their peers. It is an occasion filled with excitement & fun that will surely set the tone for an incredible academic year ahead. This event has become a beloved tradition within our school community, and we cannot wait to celebrate and reconnect with all of you!! GO PIRATES!!!

The decision has been made and we’re excited to announce that Mrs. Angela Russell has been appointed as the new Principal at Napoleon Middle School! As many of you know, Mrs. Russell has been a valued member of our team for almost ten years, most recently teaching Math at NMS. She is a lifelong resident of Napoleon and her dedication in the classroom has been a true inspiration to our students and staff alike. We are confident that under Mrs. Russell's guidance, Napoleon Middle School will continue to thrive and provide an exceptional learning environment for all our students. We extend our warmest congratulations to Mrs. Russell as she starts this exciting new chapter in her career!

Youth Football Camp - NYFL Updates 1. Next week we have our Youth Camp on Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8pm. If you did not sign-up ahead of time don't sweat it, we would still love to see you there, we just can't guarantee a shirt or a shirt in the right size. 2. On Thursday before youth camp we will be starting sign-ups for the season, we will then have a few more days the following week to get kids signed-up. 3. 5th & 6th Grade tackle teams will be returning to the Cascades Conference that we have played in prior to the 2022 season. Those games are scheduled to be held on Sunday, traveling is involved. Games will start the Sunday after Labor day and we will have a 6-7 game season depending on the number of teams and if a bye week required. We would love to have 2 tackle teams if we can get the numbers. Tackle Football practice will start the Week of August 7th. 4. K-2 and 3-4 will play on Saturday mornings and will be a house league. They will start the Saturday after Labor Day. 5. We will be doing K-2, 3-4, 5-6 for football not 10U, 12U as we did the previous year. At the Board of Education meeting Monday, June 26th, 2023, Superintendent Jim Graham officially announced that Mr. Tom Johns will move into the principal role at the NCS Alternative Education Virtual program currently Ackerson High School. In addition, Mr. Johns will continue in his position as NCS Athletic Director. As a highly regarded part of the NCS Administration team, Mr. Johns has cultivated strong relationships with students, parents, and staff members alike. Superintendent Graham stated, “Tom Johns has been an asset in each of his roles here at NCS. I’m confident our virtual program is in good hands.” NCS is fortunate to have dedicated, talented staff. As interview processes for the Middle School Principal position start, we remain committed to putting our students first, working to support their success. Stay tuned for updates on the exciting changes coming to Pirate Country for the 23/24 school year!

Mr. Graham's 20-year anniversary as the Superintendent of NCS was celebrated at the Board of Education meeting last night. Please join NCS in congratulating Mr. Graham for his outstanding service to the community, families and students of Napoleon Community Schools! 🏴‍☠️

Free Summer Meals 2023

Spanish students recently worked on pinturas en corteza de amate, a traditional art done on tree bark from south-central Mexico. These paintings typically show the traditions of a community. After viewing several authentic bark paintings, students made a rough draft and painted it on "amate bark." ¡Los piratas también son artísticos! (PIRATES are artistic too!)

The Jackson County Health Department is hosting a Health Expo on Saturday, June 10th from 10 am to 2 pm at the American 1 Event Center. Info & resources on the benefits of proper nutrition and physical activity. In addition, families will have a chance to engage with local businesses/organizations that offer summer programming for children.
