The Annual NHS Leadership Elementary FOOD DRIVE!!
Napoleon HS Leadership class is competing against Columbia HS's Leadership class to see who can bring in the most non-perishable items. All food received will stay in our community and go towards Napoleon Leadership's Christmas Giving Project.
Please have elementary student's bring non-perishables to the teachers. Student's at the middle and high schools or community members can drop non-perishables off in the school offices! The last day to drop off items is Friday, 10/9.
The winning class will receive donuts!

The YMCA is expanding our "YMCA Bus-In Adventure", which provides transportation-supported after school care at the Downtown Jackson YMCA.
Students participating in Bus-In Adventure would be transported from school at dismissal to the Downtown YMCA, where their team would take it from there.
Once students arrive, they participate in the YMCA Bus-In Adventure program in a safe, active, and welcoming environment where they can build friendships, participate in activities, stay active, and have a dependable place to spend their afternoons while their families finish the workday.
Attached is a flyer with a QR code for families to fill out their interest form for the Bus-In Adventure program.

The Shop Rat Foundation is excited to offer a Girls-Only 3D Design class designed to introduce students to CAD, 3D design, engineering, and manufacturing in a fun and supportive environment.

Each day in Jackson County, outstanding educators spark curiosity, guide meaningful growth, and create lasting change in the lives of their students. Jackson Magazine’s Top Teachers Program was created to recognize these inspiring leaders—and your nomination helps make that possible.
Educators will be honored as Top Teachers, and one will receive the distinguished title of Teacher of the Year. This comes after a careful, committee-led review and observation process. They will be featured in the May 2027 issue of Jackson Magazine.
Nomination Criteria
To be eligible for consideration, the teacher must:
Be currently employed as a full-time K–12 classroom teacher in a Jackson County, MI school.
Have completed a minimum of five years of classroom teaching prior to the 2026–2027 school year under either a Standard Teaching or ACA License.
To ensure recognition and support are extended to as many educators as possible, nominees must not have previously been named Jackson Magazine Teacher of the Year and must not have received a Top Teachers classroom grant within the past three years.
Not sure whether a teacher meets these requirements? Nominate them anyway—eligibility will be verified as part of the process.
Nominations are confidential. Teachers are not informed of the name(s) of those who submit nominations.
