Hello Freshmen and Sophomore Students and Parents,
As an advocate for the Jackson County Early College Program, I encourage you to attend our upcoming Information Night. This program offers a uniquely structured and supported pathway for students to accelerate their academic careers and achieve significant college-readiness milestones before they graduate high school.
We understand that committing to a college-level program is a big decision. We strongly recommend attending, even if you feel your son or daughter is not ready for this step, so you can fully explore the possibilities for future academic planning.
This session will specifically detail why the Early College Program offers a far more comprehensive and beneficial experience compared to standard Dual Enrollment options.
Why Choose the Early College Program?
Attend the Information Night to learn how the program provides substantial academic and financial benefits:
Earn an Associate Degree for Free: Qualified students can earn a full two-year Associate Degree (60+ college credits) at no cost to the family, providing immense savings on future university tuition.
Maximum Transferability: The program’s rigorous structure is designed to maximize the transferability of credits to four-year public and private institutions.
Comprehensive Support: Unlike general dual enrollment, Early College provides dedicated academic advising, mentorship, and a cohort model to ensure students thrive in the college environment.
Graduate Ready: Students develop the confidence and study skills necessary to successfully navigate university life, often completing a bachelor’s degree faster than their peers.
We hope you will join us to get your questions answered and see if the Early College Program is the right fit for your student.
Information Night Details:
Date: Tuesday, December 2
Time: 5:30 PM
Location: High School Library
If you are unable to attend, a summary of the information presented will be shared the following day.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing more about this transformative opportunity.

It Takes a Village… and Maybe a Little Christmas Magic!
The NHS Classes of 2026, 2027, 2028, and 2029 are teaming up to host a Christmas Family Fun Night with Santa Fundraiser!
Get ready for an evening packed with holiday cheer — and probably a few sprinkles on the floor (we’ll call it Christmas glitter).
Here’s what’s in store:
-Tasty pizza to keep your energy up for all the fun
-Hot chocolate to warm your hands and heart
-Cookie & gingerbread house decorating (frosting fingers guaranteed)
-Christmas crafts and festive face painting
-Reindeer games for kids of all ages (and maybe a few competitive parents!)
-Photos with Santa — he’s taking a break from the North Pole just for us!
And to wrap up the night, a cozy bus ride to see the sparkling MIS Christmas Lights!
We’d love your help to make this event shine! If you’d like to donate items, that’s amazing — and if you’d rather volunteer, even better (we promise it’s more fun than wrapping presents at 2 a.m.).
Please reach out to Alicia Rendall at 517-414-8047 or Trisha Lovett at 260-433-6472 with any questions. Items can dropped off at High School office & will be collected in Mrs. Yob's class. We need everything by December 1, 2025.
Let’s spread some joy, laughter, and maybe a little frosting this holiday season — together!
