🎶 Jackson County Honors Band 🎶
We are proud to share that 9 NHS Band students were selected to perform with the Jackson County Honors Band! These talented musicians spent the day collaborating with some of the top student performers from across the county, rehearsing under the direction of Dr. Shannon Shaker from Grand Rapids Community College.

Students explored a variety of career paths across Jackson County, gaining real-world insight into different professions and what it takes to succeed in them. This hands-on experience helped bring classroom learning to life and gave students a better understanding of their future possibilities.

Event Highlights:
*V.R. Career Exploration: The girls had the chance to mask up with Virtual Reality headsets, experiencing how immersive tech is being used to explore different professional fields and training environments.
*App Design with Consumers Energy: Students worked with the team from Consumers Energy to dive into product app design, learning the strategy behind designing the digital tools we use every day.
*Rocketry with the Pros: Members of WMU’s Advanced Rocketry Club met with our students to showcase their latest projects and discuss the engineering and science behind modern rocketry.
*Future Careers: From software development to energy and aerospace, our students explored a wide range of career options and spoke with experts about the future of the industry.
We are so proud of our students for their engagement and curiosity! A huge thank you to WMU and the GET-IT organizers for hosting such an inspiring event.

Napoleon Robotics team 40684D "Griffilicious" is heading to VEX Robotics WORLD Championship in Missouri at the end of April! 🤖⚙️
Team members Cade Rugg, Drew Norman, Nolan Callahan, Devin Fry, and Griffin Keith are gearing up for the big competition and putting in the work to represent Napoleon with pride.
📹 JTV and The Exponent recently stopped by to interview the team about their exciting upcoming event and their goals for the season. The team shared their strategy, preparation, and how they’re planning to take things even further — all the way to Worlds! 🌎🏆

🏴☠️🏴☠️NCS Staff was hard at work on Monday March 9th during Professional Development.🏴☠️🏴☠️
"Anchored in Safety: Protecting our Pirate Crew" was the theme of the day.
The goal of the day: To understand that Napoleon is prepared and ready. We have the process, the tools, the assigned roles, and partnerships for emergencies. Staff learned systems, procedures, routines, and strategies to keep our District safe.
Stacey Voskuil from the National Association of School Resource Officers spoke about BTAM (Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management), school violence prevention, and the importance of positive school climate.
Officer Tom Freeman, NCS School Resource officer, presented on active shooter situations.
Staff also completed Stop the Bleed training from HFHS, Reunification Table Top Exercise, and simulated active shooter exercises.
Preparation is essential. At Napoleon Community Schools, we are committed to doing our best to be prepared for any and all situations.
