This was the 26th year Eby raised money for T1D, once known as JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). We started in 2000 when we took a group of kids on Saturday to the Jackson Walk at Ella Sharp Park. Now we host a walk each year at Eby and this year we honored Brynn Stark, Alivia Sumpter, and Haylee Marchese stood in for her older brother, Connor Marchese.
A special thank you to our Pirate Student Council members who helped collect money every day this month and gave up lunch recesses to help hang pledge cards. We appreciate Mrs. Dalton for all of her organization efforts.
The winner of the $50 gift card to Amazon is Cassidy Lester in kindergarten. She raised the most in donations for TID. Mr. Sparks' class raised $243.70 and earned a pizza party. Mrs. Stoker's class raised $215.65 earning an ice cream party and Mrs. Johns' class brought in $194.50 earning $25 in Scholastic Books. The overall total raised this year was $1648.27!!!
