Ackerson staff and students celebrated Thanksgiving with a wonderful feast a couple of weeks ago. Ackerson Staff, Napoleon Food Service, and ISD Staff members all played an important role in creating a memorable Thanksgiving meal for our students.

Even though Thanksgiving break was just a week away, we wanted to take this opportunity to show our students the importance of coming together and doing something special for others.

Mr. O’Leary proudly took on the role of carving the perfect turkey. The meal also featured homemade macaroni and cheese, stuffing, and delicious pies. It was a warm and enjoyable dinner that brought everyone together in the spirit of gratitude.

Ackerson High School Visits “JUST BUILD IT!” Construction Expo

Students and staff from Ackerson High School recently attended the “JUST BUILD IT!” Construction Career Expo at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds. This exciting event gave students a unique opportunity to explore careers in the commercial construction industry through hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and interactive exhibits.

Throughout the day, students engaged with skilled trade apprenticeship programs, watched industry professionals like architects and engineers in action, and connected with representatives from construction firms, educational institutions, and industry organizations.

The Expo was a valuable experience that sparked interest in high-demand construction careers and allowed students to gain firsthand insight into the industry.
