Motivated: Students are driven to be the best they can be. They are engaged in learning, use their class time wisely, and strive to be successful.

Attendance:

Call or email Mrs. Brown at 517-905-5786 when your student will be absent
Send in a Doctor’s note for appointments or extended absences
Phone call after 3 absences, Letter after 5 absences, Truancy at 10 absences
Regular rewards and recognition for perfect attendance

Behavior:

ACCOUNTABILITY & INTEGRITY include the following traits:

RESPECT -- Treating everyone, including yourself, with dignity; showing the same regard or consideration for others as you want others to show you.
RESPONSIBILITY -- Carrying out your obligations and duties to others and to yourself; being accountable for your actions and choices.

Discipline: (Mrs. Russell, Principal & Mr. Shell, Positive Behavior Intervention Support Specialist)

Most Discipline will take place in the classroom
Office Referral will result in parent contact and an additional consequence, such as
- Lunch Detention / After School Detention
- Loss of Pirate Pride Celebration
- Owed Time / Community Service
- ISS or OSS

Dress Code:

Modest dress
Keep chest, rear, back, and belly covered
PJs, Slippers, and Hats can be worn on designated Spirit Days only
Violation will result in the student being given something to wear that is appropriate
Parent Contact for repeated violations

Cell Phones:

OFF and in the locker (See the progression of discipline in the student handbook for violation.)
If you need to contact your student, call the office (517-905-5703)
If your student needs to contact you, they will be permitted to call from the office at an appropriate time.

Check regularly with your student
Sign up for a weekly email from PowerSchool
Fill out Student & Parent Information & Emergency Contact Information online
Check with Mrs. Anderson if there are questions (517-905-5761)

Typical Day:

7:30 - 2:28 (Free Breakfast at 7:10, students may enter halls at 7:20)
4 minutes between classes (use for restroom, drinks, socializing, & getting to next class)
Grade Level Lunch (Free Lunch for all students)

Athletics:

Physicals must be on file to practice (dated April 15th or later for the next school year)
