About Ackerson High School
Ackerson High School offers students a flexible learning option with an alternative approach to earning a high school diploma. Through our virtual platform, students work independently from home or in person M-Th during office hours, 7:30-2:30, and Fri by appointment, with dedicated staff to support them as needed.
Students are required to communicate with their mentor teacher virtually or in person at least once a week. However, most students exceed the required time and check in several times weekly with their mentor. Students can access their classes anytime through the online platform, but mentors work one-on-one with the students while utilizing our office hours or virtual appointments. The program's pace is determined by the collaboration of the student, mentor, and administration to create a personalized learning plan for each student. Finishing a year's worth of schooling in less time is very possible. Our standard expectation is that students complete at least (insert) courses per semester to remain in good standing.
Before each school year, we contact every student's family listed in PowerSchool and connect with you before school starts. We want to answer all your questions, address any concerns, and do everything possible to help you succeed.
